In Baraúna, the project “Armarinho, Cantinho da Imaginação” brings children closer to the performing arts.
Between April 24 and May 3, 2023, schools in Baraúna (RN) received a cultural collection for children to have more contact with the theater
The “Armarinho, Cantinho da Imaginação” project, developed to encourage the practice of performing arts among children, took place between April 24th and May 3rd, with workshops at 10:00 am and 1:00 pm, in six public schools in Baraúna (RN).
“Armarinho, Cantinho da Imaginação” aims to encourage the practice of reading and recreational activities among children and, for this, they deliver to each school contemplated a cultural and educational collection for children in a haberdashery structure, where it will be possible to find books, toys, games and scenery for theater and puppetry workshops and presentations.
All schools participating in the “Armarinho, Cantinho da Imaginação” project will host workshops that seek to bring children closer to music, theater, creation and adaptation of synopses and scripts to bring out creativity. The workshops will be accompanied by artists, workshop workers and by teachers, monitors, assistants and coordinators of the benefited schools.
According to IBGE data, only 23.4% of Brazilian municipalities have theaters or concert halls. Because the number is considered small for a country the size of Brazil, “Armarinho, Cantinho da Imaginação” seeks to bring the public closer to this art and access to theater.
Made possible by the Culture Incentive Law, “Armarinho, Cantinho da Imaginação” is a realization of the Ministry of Tourism via the Special Secretariat of Culture with production by Incentivar, and sponsored by Mizu Cimentos and Polimix Concreto.
“We at the Polimix Organization believe that investing in education and culture for children and adolescents is the beginning of a social transformation that will lead us to a better future.” – says Polimix counselor Luana Vieira.
