Co-processing
Do you know what COPROCESSING is?
The intense generation of solid waste represents one of the greatest challenges today. Due to economic and population growth and technological services, a greater amount of waste is produced and natural resources become increasingly scarce.
Mizu’s unit in Baraúna, in Rio Grande do Norte, offers, through the co-processing of solids, a safe destination of hazardous waste. In the process, they are completely destroyed and/or incorporated as raw material in the manufacture of cement.
Currently, the unit co-processes TIRES and RUBBER ARTIFACTS and has more than 20 collection points spread across Ceará, Paraíba and Rio Grande do Norte, bringing important benefits, such as reducing the emission of particulates, sulfur oxides and nitrogen oxides to the atmosphere. In addition, of course, to reducing pressures on non-renewable natural resources. With co-processing, there is also a reduction in the disposal of solid waste in sanitary landfills, consequently increasing the useful life of the landfills.
