Cimento Mizu invests BRL 1.3 million in the environment in RN
Company completes first stage of Mata de Pipa State Park, in Tibau do Sul.
The conservation of the Atlantic Forest has advanced in Rio Grande do Norte, with the completion of the first stage of the headquarters of the Mata de Pipa State Park (PEMP), in Tibau do Sul. The investment of R$ 1 million and 355 thousand, destined to support the construction of the Ecoposto do PEMP, is the result of the environmental compensation project of the company Mizu Cimentos Especiais.
Ecoposto will function as the administrative unit of the agency and will support the management of the Conservation Unit. It will also offer activities for visitors, such as environmental education, infrastructure for researchers and environmental policing, among other functions.
In this first stage, earthworks, parking, entrance portico and sidewalks were completed. The Ecoposto will house an auditorium, library, administration, pantry and restrooms. It will also have a central inner courtyard for exhibitions, lectures, reading circles and presentations.
Preservation
With more than 290 hectares in the municipality of Tibau do Sul, famous worldwide for the beauties of Praia de Pipa, the PEMP will preserve the remaining Atlantic Forest in the area, endowed with great ecological relevance. It will also enable scientific research, environmental education and interpretation, ecological tourism and space for recreation.
The headquarters of the Mata de Pipa State Park is being built in partnership with the Institute for Sustainable Development and the Environment of Rio Grande do Norte (Idema RN), with the participation of two other companies, also through environmental compensation.
Commitment
The part referring to Mizu was officially delivered before the deadline, in a ceremony on May 5th, at the Park, with the presence of the company’s team responsible for the construction, the technical team of the Clearing House, technicians from the agency and the direction general of Idema.
This attitude confirms the company’s commitment to complying with Environmental Legislation and respecting the environment, according to Mizu environmental engineer, Antônio Aquino.
“We are contributing to the socio-environmental development of the entire region, by investing in a long-awaited and important work for the population and the environment. It is not just a legal compliance, but our socio-environmental responsibility effectively demonstrated”, emphasizes Aquino.
